photo picasioncom_ffa4c65580d17e5b7315be8fa88252f5.gifLosing her father in Desert Storm has left Stephanie James with a bitter soul when it comes to the military. As a college senior juggling a full course load, Steph's only goal is to graduate with honors at the end of the semester. She’s focused, determined, and a firm believer in all work and no play. Then she meets Brandon Walker at a New Year’s Eve costume party. Despite his disguise, Steph finds herself attracted to the camouflaged soldier who curls her toes with a scorching midnight kiss.

Brandon is an engineering major and ROTC student from the hills of Kentucky. Growing up as the son of a major general has given Brandon firsthand knowledge of the struggles military families sometimes face. Now that his father’s memory is fading, Brandon is even more determined to make his dad proud and graduate as an officer in the United States Army. Then he meets Stephanie, and suddenly, his focus is less on his military service and more on the pretty brunette who has stolen his heart. When he becomes aware of Steph’s resentment toward the military, he worries their relationship is doomed.
When faced with the realization that she's fallen in love with a soldier, can Steph’s wounds from the past be healed with love in her present . . . and in her future?

A Perfect Love (Perfect #2)

“When the odds are stacked against you,
you don’t run and hide.
You step up and give life the middle finger.”

Floundering and confused, she discovers life and love isn't always knee deep in hearts and flowers. Sometimes, life’s middle finger is pointed firmly in the air.

Liam never expected perfect, but from the moment he said "I do", he knew he had it. What he doesn’t expect, is life throwing crapballs the size of Ayres Rock at him! Sometimes, life’s aim is a little too accurate.

When Mother Nature steps in and throws their world into disarray, Liam and Jo need to decide just how far they’re willing to go to find their perfect love.

***An Interview with Sydney Logan***

What's your bad quality?

Oh, I have plenty. I’m a worrier. Always have been. Even if there’s really nothing to worry about, I manage to find something. I’m hoping that turning forty this year will cure me of it. Also, I can be a perfectionist, except when it comes to house cleaning. I’m the biggest procrastinator ever when it comes to cleaning my house. I’m always excited when Halloween comes around because then the cobwebs fit right in.

Which is your most favorite book ever?

This is such an impossible question, but one book I’ve read over and over again is A Wrinkle in Time by Madeline L’Engle. I’m not a big sci-fi reader, but the theme of love conquering evil resonates throughout that book, and it really appealed to me as a kid.

Which is the one television character that you simply adore?

I love Jesse Pinkman from Breaking Bad. Yes, he was a drug dealer and a junkie throughout most of the series, but there were many moments where you could see how badly he was hurting and how much he wanted a different life. He broke my heart so many times, and I just couldn’t help but root for him.

What kind of music do you like?

My playlist is the biggest eclectic mess you’ll ever see. I love everything except opera and most rap (although I can appreciate them). I love Adele, Johnny Cash, fun, Miranda Lambert, Eminem (the only rap I like), Pink, 80s power ballads, country, bluegrass . . . I love it all.

If given complete freedom to start afresh, what profession would you choose and why?

I would have been a writer. I almost majored in journalism in college, but I decided to teach instead. I don’t regret that decision, and I love my job, but I don’t know that it would be my first choice if I started over.

What is the funniest prank played on you or played by you?

On April’s Fools Day many years ago, I was out in the hallway talking to another teacher. When I walked back inside my classroom, I sat down at my desk . . . and that’s when I heard the whoopee cushion, courtesy of my sweet sixth graders. Their laughter was totally worth any embarrassment!
